Miles Away From Home

“We are part of a club, we never wanted to join,” Miles’ mother wrote. “Miles was blessed to receive a low-risk diagnosis, but knowing how much intense treatment he has to receive despite that makes our heart ache for those in a harder battle.”

Miles, who is described as extraordinary, strong, and wise beyond his years, recently finished up his treatment in the fall of 2024 and went to Hawaii in early 2025 after he had a bit of time to recover.

Miles had the chance to experience a Hawaiian dream vacation. He visited the cockpit of the airplane and met the pilots. He explored both above and below the waves on a snorkeling boat. He dove deeper into the ocean in a sturdy submarine, relaxed on the bright, beautiful beaches, and attended a luau rich with both food and culture.

"This year has been one that wore us down, completely. Hearing those words - that your child has cancer, is something that no parent should ever have to endure. We have been so exhausted and depleted, and this trip was so good for filling our empty cups. I pray you know that what you give to these families is invaluable. The work you do, and with so much detail is beyond amazing. You are all a gift from God, and I know we could never thank you enough. Miles' wish, was a wish come true.”
