Heck Yeah!

Heck Yeah!

Brexlee, of Twin Falls, is described as a wild child because she’s always doing something that she shouldn’t. She’s the youngest of three but refuses to be treated like a baby and will always stick up for herself. She’s a daddy’s girl who follows her father everywhere, but she’s also quite girly. She loves to get her hair and makeup done and leaps at the chance to style someone else's hair or apply their makeup.

She’s smart, too. At just four years old, Brexlee could already count well past ten and recite her ABC's. Her mom, Danielle, says that she is loving, generous, strong, and resilient. Brexlee is not picky about food and will eat anything you put in front of her.

“Brexlee is an amazing little girl. She is so tough. She never complains; she never fusses. She just does what she needs to do,” her mother wrote.

Her battle with leukemia was extremely difficult for her. It was frightening and painful. She had to go through 100 days of treatment which included a bone marrow transplant. Her father, Andrew, said that this was the low point of the illness for her, but the treatment was a success, and the new bone marrow took. As of this writing, Brexlee has been cancer-free for fifteen months. She still must go back for check-ups and to get blood work, but her outlook is extremely positive overall.

The wish was like a cherry on top of a sundae. The worst of her illness and stress was over, and Brexlee’s spirits were high because her health and vigor had returned. This made the wish even more relaxing because they could enjoy Disney World and Orlando without any looming stress.

Brexlee and her family stayed at Give Kids The World Resort. “Give Kids The World is Amazing,” her dad, Andrew said. “They really take care of you. They will even carry your trays to your table for you.”

While in Orlando, the family visited Disney World, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Sea World, and Universal Studios.

The highlight of the trip was at Hollywood Studios. Brexlee and her family were at the Ana and Elsa sing-along enjoying the rendition of “Let it Snow.” The family was in the front row in their Make-A-Wish® shirts. When the show ended, the cast wanted to meet the wish kid. Brexlee and company were like “Heck Yeah!” and cast members spent a lot of time after the show visiting with Brexlee and answering her questions. Brexlee ran into Ana and Elsa several times during her trip, and each time they stopped to chat with Brexlee and make her feel special.

“Brexlee loved it,” her father said.  During the entire trip, he could sense her excitement, and at the end of the wish, she didn’t want to leave.

Brexlee’s wish was made possible by a grant from the Olive Smith Browning Charitable Trust, a Twin Falls-based organization that funds endeavors that have a significant positive impacts across a diverse spectrum of causes.
