The Fancy Nancy Dancy Wish

Fancy Nancy is a children's book character with a flamboyant and sassy personality who loves dressing and talking fancy.

This character is much like Harper, an outspoken, outgoing, and bubbly girl with a unique fashion sense who loves to make people laugh.

Harper wished to be a Fancy Nancy ballerina. In a sub-series of the Fancy Nancy books, the character becomes a ballet dancer, so young Harper spent eight weeks taking ballet lessons so she could learn to dance like her literary hero. When graduation rolled around, there was more to celebrate than her mastery of dance.  Her doctors had recently declared that Harper was in remission.

For her graduation, Harper wanted a fancy tea party. Lake Coeur d'Alene Cruises donated the use of the ship, the Spirit of Coeur d'Alene. Harper, her family and several friends climbed into a limousine and traveled to the lake. The students of Coeur d'Alene High School lined the streets, cheering as Harper's fancy vehicle passed.

The tea party on the lake was grand. Streamers, balloons and ribbons adorned the deck of the ship. The kitchen staff of The Coeur d'Alene Resort crafted colorful cookies and scrumptious sweets. Everyone had a good time, and afterwards, Harper learned that she had been gifted eight more weeks of ballet class. How fancy!
