Taibree likes to spend time outdoors. She camps, rides a four-wheeler, and boats. She also plays sports: basketball, tumbling, volleyball, softball, and competitive dance. She’s social and active, always setting up playdates with her pals.

The trouble started when Taibree complained of growing pains in her shin. Her parents took her to the doctor, and he found nothing wrong with her below the knee. A few months later, Taibree’s mom, Kelsie, saw that her thigh was swollen, so they took her to the doctor again. The physicians ran a few tests, and an X-ray revealed signs of a cancerous tumor. Taibree immediately started chemotherapy.

“I have learned that Taibree is a fighter, and no matter how hard this journey is going to be, she will make it through with a smile on her face,” Kelsie wrote.

Taibree considered wishing for a puppy or a kitten or maybe going to a Morgan Wallen concert. The family already owned multiple pets, and her parents lightly dissuaded her from wishing for more. After some consideration, she wished for a clubhouse. Her sisters told us Taibree chose the wish because she wanted a place to hang out.

It's the Idaho community that brings the magic to any wish, and Joyce Little of Little Dream Homes was the prime mover behind Taibree’s wish. She not only sponsored the wish, but she reached out to her network and asked for donations to help furnish Taibree’s playhouse with decorations, furniture and more, including a little Christmas tree with gift cards hanging from the branches. Taibree could open one card every month, and she could keep getting new decorations and add-ons for her clubhouse months after her wish came true.

Joyce Little told us that a Make-A-Wish® Idaho representative who knew she sold houses inspired her to help with the wish. “It became a near and dear to my heart mission. It was kind of a no-brainer to be able to do something like this,” she said.

Other local companies also pitched in, including DiBella in Twin Falls. “We had the opportunity to donate the roof,” said Jacob, a company representative. “I’ve had family who have had very similar situations like this. It gave me the opportunity to give back, not only to my community but to a family who needs something. I was really happy to be a part of it and really happy to make a wish come true.”

Tyler from T33 Services painted Taibree’s clubhouse. “I appreciate being a little part of the joy when Taibree comes out and sees the playhouse that she has,” he said.

Although Taibree had watched the playhouse being built in her backyard over the course of a month, she was still surprised when she saw the final product. “I love it,” she said. “It’s something I can have for the rest of my life.”

“She’s been looking forward to it since she got the wish,” her mom said.

“It did definitely uplift her attitude," her dad, Jeremiah, said. “It’s been a challenge for her to sit and look out the door and just watch as it went up. There’s been a lot of anticipation for it. That’s been a good positive thing for her. “
