KONO Nutrition Hosts Second Annual Stronger Together 5k in Honor of Blake’s Wish to Go to Disney World
Boise, ID: KONO Nutrition is holding the second annual Stronger Together 5k at Boise’s iconic mountain, Bogus Basin, on September 30 to raise money for Make-A-Wish ® Idaho. The 5k course will wind through the trails of Bogus Basin. Participants can choose to run, hike, or walk the beautiful but challenging route. In addition to the race, local wellness companies will host booths providing product samples, games, giveaways, ice baths, and more. There will also be live music and food trucks. A thirty-five-dollar minimum donation is required to run. One hundred percent of proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Idaho in honor of wish kid Blake. Participants can sign up at https://kononutrition.com/blogs/events/stronger-together-2023
The race will be run in honor of wish kid Blake, a ten-year-old Boise resident with leukemia who wishes to go to Disney World. He chose a Disney wish because he is a fan of Star Wars and Marvel and has never been to the park before. Blake and his family will be special guests at the event. Although Make-A-Wish Idaho granted a record number of wishes during its latest fiscal year, there are still over 100 wish kids like Blake waiting for their wishes.
“In Its second year, the event is bigger and better. Not only will the Stronger Together 5k raise money for Blake’s wish and other Idaho wishes, but it will also bring the local health and wellness community together behind a common cause,” said KONO Nutrition founder and former wish kid Alex Conley. “As someone who has experienced the power of a wish firsthand, I’m excited to help grant Blake’s wish and to see a big smile on his face. When you’re going through leukemia as a child, it feels good to know that your community cares and a wish is the tangible representation of a community’s compassion.”
