Epic Shine Car Wash to Hold Three-Day Fundraiser in Honor of Wish Kid Liam
Boise, ID: Epic Shine Car Wash will be holding their sixth annual Make-A-Wish® Idaho fundraiser at all eight Treasure Valley locations on August 4 through 6. Patrons will have the opportunity to donate to Make-A-Wish Idaho and learn about its mission as well as Liam’s wish when they purchase a car wash at Epic Shine. This year, money is being raised in honor of wish kid Liam but will benefit all wish kids throughout the state. Over the years, Epic Shine Car Wash has raised over $50,000 for Idaho wish kids.
Wish kid Liam is a thirteen-year-old with a blood disorder who spent over 46 days in the hospital after a bone marrow transplant and over 100 days in Salt Lake City receiving treatment. Now back in Idaho, his wish is to go to Hawaii. He is looking forward to experiencing Hawaii’s warm weather, riding in a boat, parasailing and swimming in the ocean.
“Epic Shine loves hosting the annual Make-A-Wish Idaho fundraiser,” said Dave Conley. “Make-A-Wish Idaho granted my son’s wish to go to Disney World over twenty years ago. My son is grown up now and doing very well, so I want to ensure that wish kids like Liam also get to experience the magic, hope, and joy that a wish provides.”
During its most recent fiscal year, Make-A-Wish Idaho has granted over 110 wishes, ten more wishes that it has ever granted in a year with aspirations to grant around 130 by the fiscal year’s end. The increase in wishes is due to the rise in the state’s population, and it looks as if Make-A-Wish Idaho will be granting a similar number of wishes during its 2023-2024 fiscal year. Support from individuals, organizations and companies like Epic Shine Car Wash are more important than ever.
