The Make-A-Wish® Idaho Board of Directors has elected Abby Black as the new Board Chair.Abby has been serving on the Board of Directors since 2018 and served most recently as vice chair. She is succeeding Brad Christensen, investment advisor at Ascent Retirement Advisors, who served as chair from 2020-2022. He will continue to serve in his new role as Immediate Past Chair. Long-serving board member Grant Porter, Loan Officer at One Trust Home Loans, has stepped into the vice chair role.

“We’re so excited to have Abby as our new board chair. Her support and skills have been potent arrows in our quiver over the last few years, and we look forward to her leadership during this crucial time. I want to thank Brad Christensen who guided us through the difficult waters of the pandemic and for stepping in when he was needed most.”

This is a pivotal year for Make-A-Wish Idaho. The organization is attempting to grant a record-setting number of wishes to ensure that kids who had to wait during the pandemic get their wishes as soon as possible and to ensure that future wish kids don’t have to wait longer than a year unless they request to. Currently, Make-A-Wish Idaho is set to grant somewhere between 120-130 wishes, more wishes than the organization has ever granted in a single year.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to Chair the Board of Make-A-Wish Idaho.  Our Board has so many talented professionals who genuinely want to excel at our mission to create life- changing wishes.  The direction of the organization is extremely exciting under Janie’s leadership and outstanding staff. We are looking forward to great things ahead. “
