Make-A-Wish® Idaho to Hold 20th Annual Gebert-Arbaugh Polar Bear Challenge on Jan. 1 at Spring Shores Marina

Boise, ID: Make-A-Wish® Idaho will host its 20th annual Gebert-Arbaugh Polar Bear Challenge fundraiser on January 1, 2023 at Spring Shores Marina (74 Arrowrock Rd in Boise) at 11 a.m. Day-of registration begins at 10 a.m. Make-A-Wish Idaho has changed the name of the event to honor the lives and legacies of event founders Larry Gebert and Gary Arbaugh.

During the Gebert-Arbaugh Polar Bear Challenge hundreds of stalwart Idahoans will brave the chilly, January weather and subject themselves to the freezing reservoir waters to raise money to grant wishes to local children with critical illnesses. This year’s event will include an exciting costume and mustache contest as well as waterskiing! Start preparing now for the chance to win prizes like American Airlines AAdvantage Points, Idaho Botanical Garden Event Vouchers, Idaho Steelheads tickets, Dave & Buster’s gift cards and more! Sign up as a team or individual at Idaho.wish.org

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to grant wishes to Idaho children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Idaho is aiming to grant 150 wishes during its 2022-2023 fiscal year, setting a new chapter record and ensuring that Idaho wish kids will have shorter wait times for wishes in the future.
