Make-A-Wish® Idaho to Host First-Ever Walk For Wishes Idaho Falls Charity Event

Idaho Falls, ID: Make-A-Wish Idaho will host the first-ever Walk For Wishes Idaho Falls on May 21 at Russ Freeman Park located at 1290 Science Center Drive in Idaho Falls. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m. People can sign up early at Idaho.wish.org.

The (approx.) mile-length walk is free to anyone who would like to attend. However, participants are asked to attempt to raise $100. All proceeds generated from the walk will be put towards granting life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. Make-A-Wish Idaho aims to grant 87 wishes in 2022, and there are currently over 150 Idaho children waiting for their wishes to be granted.
“We’re so excited to start this brand-new tradition. The Idaho Falls community is amazing. Just last month, we granted two wishes in the area where volunteers and local businesses stepped up to help grant the wish or made significant donations to ensure that the wishes were extra special,” said Helene Peterson, Make-A-Wish Idaho Director of Development.

Make-A-Wish Idaho intends to raise $25,000 from the event. They have already raised over $16,000 from early registrants and from the sponsorships of nine local businesses:  Blue Cross of Idaho, Idaho Falls Community Hospital, Smith Chevrolet, Brickyard Event Center, Kiewit Corporation, Lookout Credit Union, Mountain Valley Insurance, Bee Happy Pediatrics and RE/MAX Real Estate.
Walkers can sign up at Idaho.wish.org or call 208-345-9474 for more information.
