Make-A-Wish® Idaho Will Attempt to Raise One Million Airline Miles During April 6 Telethon

Boise, ID: On April 6, 2022, from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Make-A-Wish® Idaho will hold an on-air telethon in partnership with CBS 2 to raise airline miles for the purpose of sending children with critical illnesses on wish trips that involve air travel. Make-A-Wish Idaho hopes to raise 1 million airlines miles in total and is also aiming to raise $20,000 cash that day, which represents the monetary cost of two wishes.

“As demand for travel increases, the amount of wishes that we are likely to grant will increase significantly. We need airlines miles now, maybe, more than any other time in our organization’s history,” said Make-A-Wish Idaho Director of Development Helene Peterson

For many wishes, travel is the biggest expense. Make-A-Wish Idaho is committed to including each child’s family in the wish experience, meaning each wish requires multiple airline tickets.

Once airline miles are donated to Make-A-Wish Idaho, they never expire. Make-A-Wish Idaho encourages anyone who has been sitting on unused airline miles to consider donating them before they expire.

Make-A-Wish Idaho is able to accept miles from those with Alaska, Delta and United Airlines mileage accounts. The number to call the day of the telethon is 208-345-9474 or interested donors can go to the Make-A-Wish Idaho website, idaho.wish.org and click on the Wishes in Flight link to fill out and fax, email or mail a form to our offices.
