Wish Kid Pua

Spotlight Wish Kid Pua

In the midst of battling a critical cancer diagnosis, 15-year-old Wailuku wish kid Pua found strength and hope in her wish journey. Pua’s wish to have her own videography equipment was granted with the help of volunteers Nikki and Jen, and the generosity of Steven and Karen Sato.

Pua was ready to dive into her new equipment to capture stories and create content with wonder and excitement. She pushed through nausea, an effect of chemotherapy, to work on her videos.

The power of a wish brings kids many incredible benefits. One of the most beautiful is Pua’s desire to wish it forward, giving back to the Make-A-Wish Hawaii ‘ohana. Pua volunteered to film and edit video for Kahului wish kid Skylaa, who wished to be a traveling artist. Nine-year-old Skylaa’s Wish Day was designed to encourage her passion and love for creating art, and Pua captured all of the beautiful moments throughout Skylaa’s exciting Wish Day. Watch the video of Skylaa’s wish, made possible by Pua kindheartedly wishing it forward, below.
