Wish Alumni Research Intern
Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is hiring an intern for the summer of 2023. The main project of this internship is to research people who had their wishes granted in the past and their families, ahead of personal outreach from our alumni councils. The intern will compile data on their current circumstances, reach out to them to confirm contact information, and possibly speak with the family about re-engaging with Make-A-Wish.
This internship will be in person at our office in downtown Oakland, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, for a time commitment of 16 hours per week June through August 2023. The internship begins the week of June 12, 2023.
This is a paid internship; compensation is $18/hour. College credit may be available depending on the requirements of your college or university.
- Researching wish alumni and wish families’ contact information
- Contacting alumni and parents to gauge their interest in re-engaging
- Data entry of alumni records into the Make-A-Wish database
- Mailing materials to alumni and families
- Other duties as assigned
- Passion for the mission and vision of Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area
- Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Professional demeanor
- Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with alumni relations
- Internet research, especially on LinkedIn and other social media platforms
- Self-starter, desire to learn more about the nonprofit industry and fundraising practices
- Development, fundraising, database, and nonprofit experience is preferred
