Marketing Intern
Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area is seeking an organized, diligent, creative self-starter who is passionate about our mission and interested in learning more about communications and marketing in a non-profit setting. This position works with the marketing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe interviews
- Proofread and copyedit digital and print collateral
- Occasionally conduct interviews with subjects and contribute stories
- Ensure all content published is consistent with Make-A-Wish brand voice and style guide
- Assist with making updates to website and database
- Use analytics tools to assess trends and generate weekly marketing analytics and reports
- Create and publish relevant, original, high-quality posts on Make-A-Wish’s social media accounts
- Monitor social media accounts and respond to messages and comments
- Help maintain an editorial calendar to manage content and plan marketing campaigns
- Help organize assets, including photo files, story files etc., maintain version control
- Research and report on social media best practices; provide suggestions and strategies for growing social following and boosting engagement
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and editing skills; excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of social media platforms, their respective user demographics and best uses: primarily Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, but also LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube etc.
- Working knowledge of SEO practices
- Work proactively and independently, communicating well with marketing staff
- Promote the mission and activities of Make-A-Wish with enthusiasm
- Google Analytics and Adwords experience is an asset
- Basic photo editing (cropping, color correction etc.); graphic design experience (Adobe Creative Suite) a plus
Commitment: 10-15 hours a week; flexible schedule. This is a summer internship. Start and end dates are flexible but should fall between May-August. Please indicate your availability in the cover letter.
Majors: Marketing, Communications, Business. Minimum G.P.A. is 3.0.
This is a volunteer position. College credit may be available depending on the requirements of your college or university.
