The Endowment for Mission Delivery, in honor of Paul Fisher MD, creates a sustainable source of revenue in perpetuity for Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area. Dr. Paul Fisher—chief of the Division of Child Neurology for the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University—has been a champion of the Make-A-Wish mission for decades and has referred more than 200 children for life-changing wishes.

Like Dr. Paul Fisher and all our referral sources in the medical community, we recognize the need to continue our mission is more important than ever and that hope will always be essential for the children with critical illnesses we serve. 

Funds contributed to the endowment will be directed specifically to mission support, including activities like:

• Medical outreach
• Translation of wish materials into multiple languages
• Volunteer training in new policies and methods
• Additional financial support for extraordinary wishes that need to be granted as soon as possible

This endowment helps ensure that funding issues never delay a child’s wish, particularly for a child with an advanced illness. The Endowment for Mission Delivery will provide even more high-quality, life-enriching opportunities for our wish kids and their families. It also allows us to recognize Dr. Paul Fisher as a leading champion of our mission. 

About Dr. Fisher 

For more than 25 years (and counting!), Dr. Paul Fisher has demonstrated a strong commitment to Make-A-Wish as both a local and national leader. He is Chief of the Division of Child Neurology for Lucile Packard’s Children’s Hospital at Stanford, where he founded their pediatric brain tumor program. In addition to his inspiring medical career, he is a caring advocate, a top referral source for our wish kids, a former board member, a long-time donor and, most importantly, a great resource and source of support for the families that we all serve.
