Make-A-Wish grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. To grant nearly 400 wishes each year, Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area leverages support from corporate partners in the form of cause-marketing promotions, employee engagement, and event sponsorships. This intern will support the Corporate Development Department with our summer fundraising campaigns and our streaming and gaming fundraising initiatives.

This position will help execute summer campaigns by working with various corporate partners (Maggiano’s, Party City, etc.) as well as Make-A-Wish volunteers. It will also include working with our Gaming Committee, gaming partners and local streamers to raise vital funds online. Tasks related to this position will include, but are not limited to:

• Email and phone correspondence with corporate and event partners throughout the Bay Area
• Email and phone correspondence with volunteers 
• Maintaining campaign data and key performance indicators
• Creating and sending campaign marketing materials
• Assist in planning wish reveals/celebrations and campaign events
• Research corporate partner prospects
• Assist in management of Discord and Twitch community
• Research opportunities for activating our Stream for the Wishes program within the greater Bay Area
• Assist in streamer and community outreach

Qualifications desired for this position:

• Self-starter with good organization skills and ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
• Professional demeanor
• Familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Interest in non-profit industry, corporate relations, fundraising, and/or marketing
• Interest in fundraising within the gaming and streaming space
• Basic knowledge of Twitch and Discord
• 18 years of age or older

Availability:

• June 1st, 2021 through the end of August
• Minimum of 16 hours per week, up to 24 hours
• Position is virtual, personal computer with a reliable WiFi connection required
• No major course of study is required but marketing, communication, or nonprofit experience is preferred
• Minimum G.P.A. is 3.0

This is a volunteer (unpaid) position. College credit may be available depending on the requirements of your college or university.
