Behind the Wish: World Wish Day Edition
A Greater Bay Livestream Event
A Greater Bay Livestream Event

For World Wish Day 2022, we're pleased to launch our new livestream event series—Behind the Wish! Our special World Wish Day livestream will go behind the scenes of 7-year-old Yahya's wish to have a backyard makeover, complete with an obstacle course and a place to garden and conduct science experiments.
Yahya has hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, which means his immune system does not work correctly and has caused damage to his body tissues and organs. He has been immunocompromised for some time and has missed out on a lot of playing and learning outdoors, which he loves to do. His new backyard play space provides lots of shade to protect him from the sun while he discovers and explores. The obstacle course will help Yahya recover from the widespread stiffness in his limbs from his disorder.
Our live event will also feature:
- A VIP backyard tour from Yahya himself
- Q&A session with Peter Rohan, owner and founder of LandSpaces, and Yalda Modabber, executive director of Golestan Education
On April 29, 1980, the Phoenix community came together to grant the wish of Chris Greicius, a 7-year-old battling leukemia, who wanted to be a police officer for the day. On World Wish Day each year, we celebrate his wish and the hundreds of thousands of life-changing wishes granted by Make-A-Wish for children with critical illnesses.
It's free to tune in on World Wish Day; we invite you to register to let us and Yahya know you'll be attending!
Thank you to the Quest Foundation for generously adopting Yahya's wish.
