This year, Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina is celebrating four decades of transforming lives, one wish at a time.

We exist for one reason—to create joy. Since our very first wish in 1986, we’ve stood beside children facing critical illnesses, turning fear and uncertainty into moments filled with laughter and hope.

From the Triangle to the coast, wishes have brought joy to the lives of more than 4,800 children and their families, proof that a wish is so much more than a single experience. It’s a spark that helps children reclaim the joy of being a kid.

This year, as we mark our 40th anniversary, we’re celebrating every child who has experienced the power of a wish—the smiles, the awe, the hope restored. And we’re looking ahead to the countless wishes we’ll bring to life in years to come.

Since 1986, Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina has granted over 4,800 wishes for wish kids from the Triangle to the coast. But 4,800 is more than just a number.
