Host a Community Event
Our vision is bold and heartfelt: to grant a life-changing wish to every child battling a critical illness from the Triangle to the coast. Community events are one powerful way to help make that vision a reality. Whether it’s a 5K, a pickleball tournament, a lemonade stand, or something uniquely you, there’s no wrong way to fundraise. These events not only generate the funds needed to grant wishes, but they also shine a light on the hope, strength, and joy behind every wish in our local chapter. To everyone who has hosted or is planning an event, thank you. Your creativity and compassion are helping transform lives right here in Eastern North Carolina.

Community Event Spotlight
In August 2020, Conner, a Wake Forest high School student, embarked on a journey that was change his and countless others lives. He joined the school-wide effort, Kids for Wish Kids, to help grant local wishes for children with critical illnesses. This was his first encounter with Make-A-Wish and it ignited a passion in him, leading him to launch his own color run, Running Outside the Lines (ROTL) with the sole purpose of donating 100% of the proceeds to Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina.
Now, 5 years later, Conner is still spearheading this event, which has become a six-month leadership project for high school students in the Triangle. To date, the ROTL leadership program has brough together six high schools, jointly raising over $80,000!
It's such a selfless thing to do. They're out here on a Saturday morning; its freezing outside and they're raising money. I thought that was amazing.
