Wish Families & Alumni
Wish Journey Program
Make-A-Wish Connecticut’s Wish Journey Program fosters a community of Make-A-Wish alumni, families and staff who work together to support each other’s journeys, share the impact of your wishes and advance our vision of granting a wish for every eligible child.
We are actively creating a community of wish families and alumni in Connecticut that is fostered by shared connections and experiences, with the goal of creating new and lasting relationships. Our alumni kids and families often help us share the story of their journeys with others who are interested in knowing about the impact of a wish. When others understand that impact, it helps us realize our mission of granting life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.
Wednesday, September 23rd
On Wednesday, September 23, 2020 we’re granting our 500,000th wish to 16-year-old Karina, and we’re inviting children around the world to join the celebration by participating in Kamp Karina, a virtual “camp” day with activities designed to put a smile on the faces of children in need. All activities – many of which will be led by wish alumni themselves – will be streamed on the Make-A-Wish America YouTube page. Mark your calendars and learn more at Kamp Karina.

A great way to stay involved with Make-A-Wish Connecticut is through the Wish Families & Alumni Facebook group. This CLOSED group is only for wish families and alumni and is a great place to find out about events, ways to volunteer and opportunities for involvement. It’s a great platform for our organization to engage with families and for them to not only engage with us, but with each other as well. On the page, families can share their stories and connect with other families in similar circumstances as their own.
Share Your Story
There is nothing more powerful than your personal experience (words, pictures, stories and quotes) to ignite support. Tell us how Make-A-Wish has impacted your life, what being involved or receiving a wish from our organization has meant to you and your family.
Please send any pictures and videos with a brief description of the wish experience to [email protected].
See some of these stories in action by following us on all social channels at @MakeAWishCT
Wish Ambassador Program
Our new wish ambassador program for wish alumni is currently under development. Our goal is to have a group of wish kids who want to share their stories, volunteer their time, help with events and engagements, meet to discuss ideas with peers and mentor other wish kids.
If you are interested in becoming a wish ambassador, please contact Stefanie at [email protected].
