Seven-year-old Vinny loves everything Star Wars. When diagnosed with lymphoma in November of 2019, he immediately knew he wanted to visit a galaxy far, far away. His wish to go to the Walt Disney World Resort was the perfect destination to do just that!
Vinny had big plans for his first ever experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. He wanted to become a Jedi and build his own lightsaber and droid and pilot the Millennium Falcon like Han Solo and Chewbacca. When Vincent finished his treatment and was officially cancer free in January of 2020, he was cleared to travel and planned to go on his wish later that year. Sadly, his Jedi dreams were put on hold only a few months later when the pandemic paused travel wishes. Vincent was heartbroken, but adamant that he wanted to wait for his wish to travel to Disney.
After over two long years of waiting, Vinny was finally able to go on his wish trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in October of 2022. Vinny and his family stayed in Give Kids the World Village in a villa that looked like it was straight from a storybook. They spent three days at Disney World, two days at Universal Studios, and one day at SeaWorld. His favorite part of the trip was, of course, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Vinny was blown away when he stepped foot into the park – everything looked like it was straight out of the movies. From the characters walking around, to the food, the shops and everything in between, Vinny felt as if he traveled to a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
