A Barrier Free Bathroom!

Thirteen-year-old Nina loves dogs, food, and music. She is always happy and smiling, but each day can be a challenge for Nina as she deals with a nervous system disorder.

Nina has limited mobility and is non-verbal. Taking a warm shower or using the restroom with ease is something many of us take for granted. However, for Nina, it is a daily challenge. Her family’s bathroom is not easily accessible, and is difficult for her to navigate. Nina and her parents felt that the perfect wish for Nina would be an accessible shower and bathroom.

Designed with Nina’s limitations and wish list in mind, her new accessible bathroom includes a walk-in bathtub with a door and a changing table. Her bedroom and her bathroom are now on the same floor, making life much easier for her. She was so happy when she entered her new bathtub to test it out. The bath was filled with toys, and she could not stop smiling! The renovation has made a huge difference in Nina’s life, making it easier and more comfortable for Nina and her family to help her in the bathroom.

[Nina] is nonverbal, but you can tell this accessible bathroom is something that makes her life easier.
