Make-A-Wish® Central New York Youth Leadership Council is an exclusive and dynamic leadership program designed to foster the next generation of conscious leaders through philanthropic activities. Students are mentored to create programs and events within their schools and communities to help make wishes come true. Students must be in grades 10 – 12 and live within the 15 counties Make-A-Wish Central New York serves. Applications for the 2026 – 2027 YLC term will go live in May 2026. 

YLC gives students the opportunity to:

  • Develop leadership, organization, fundraising, and planning skills
  • Earn volunteer/community service hours with school approval
  • Learn about philanthropy and teamwork
  • Learn new skills including public speaking, budgeting and marketing
  • Network with local business professionals
