Wishmakers at Work

What is Wishmakers at Work?

Wishmakers at Work is a Make-A-Wish workplace giving program to enable employees to plan and coordinate fundraising programs to help grant wishes.

Wishmakers at Work provides many ways for employees to contribute funds, including through payroll deductions, joining workplace giving federations and participating in internal fundraising events.

Workplace giving not only benefits Make-A-Wish Arizona. It also:

  • Provides workers with a purpose to their donations, while also providing a direct result of the change you have made in the lives of everyone involved in a wish experience.
  • Allows employees to work collectively as a team to reach a goal and make a difference within their communities and in the lives of wish children in Arizona.
  • Encourages employees around a great cause to engender long-term commitment to the company and pride in their employer.

Your support helps us move ever closer to achieving our ultimate vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in our state. By raising critical wish-granting funds through a Wishmaker at Work campaign, you will help change the lives of children dealing with a life-threatening medical condition.

How can I participate with Wishmakers at Work?

AUTOMATIC PAYROLL DEDUCTION
Payroll deduction is an easy and convenient contribution plan in which an employer deducts a specified amount from an employee's pay each month to donate to Make-A-Wish Arizona.

WORKPLACE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS
Workplace fundraising campaigns allow offices to be creative in their fundraising. Challenge other offices or departments within your workplace to see who can raise the most funds for Arizona wish kids by hosting a Jeans for Wishes casual dress day, a bake sales, a silent auction or another fun activity!

MATCHING GIFTS
With Workplace giving campaigns, you might be able to make your donation go farther. Many companies encourage employees to donate to their favorite charities by matching their contributions, sometimes dollar-for-dollar or more. Some companies even match the gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Please contact your human resources department to see if your workplace qualifies.

If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed with the receipt of your gift -- we will do the rest!

Workplace Giving Donation Codes

Private Sector, State and Local Government Employees
Look for Make-A-Wish Arizona under the America’s Charities listing on your giving campaign form. America’s Charities is a Make-A-Wish partner in the workplace, with inclusion in hundreds of state and local government (agency code ST120), public sector, and corporate giving campaigns. You can designate Make-A-Wish Arizona as the beneficiary of your payroll deductions or choose to make a one-time gift.

Federal Government Employees
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the outlet for federal employees to demonstrate their philanthropic commitment. To make wishes come true with your CFC contribution, enter the Make-A-Wish Arizona CFC agency code, 89983, on your pledge card.

United Way
If your company’s employee giving program only includes United Way, look for a “donor option” line on your giving campaign form and write in “Make-A-Wish Arizona” and agency code 3023. United Way programs allow donors to specify a charity of their choice. Your local United Way will then forward your gift directly to our organization.

If your workplace does not current have a workplace giving program, please contact Demi Simotas, Corporate & Foundation Giving Officer at [email protected] or 602.343.9437.
