Western Underground Gives to Grant Wishes
Since 2006, Western Underground, a Phoenix-based construction company, has quietly donated more than $96,000 to Make-A-Wish Arizona.
They understand staying under the radar since that is their business – building sewers, water lines and storm drainages that work without kinks so that no one knows they are there.
Yet, by granting almost 10 wishes over the past 15 years, Make-A-Wish Arizona felt it was time for some recognition and decided to honor the company as September Donor of the Month.
“We like to give back to the community and we like that, with Make-A-Wish Arizona, we know that the money goes directly to the kids,” said Kevin Doyle, president of Western Underground. Doyle said that when they started researching charities, Make-A-Wish Arizona rose to the top of their list.
“We try to keep fairly consistent, giving what we can because we know that it can make a big difference to those kids,” continued Doyle. “We don’t do it for recognition. We do it because we know that the money will be well spent making the kids happy.”
