Pyper's family chooses to Wish It Forward with monthly donation
Wish Alum Pyper was granted her wish to go to Walt Disney World® resorts in 2019. Her family started donating to Make-A-Wish Arizona almost as soon as they returned.
“After Pyper’s wish was granted, we decided to become a monthly donor because of the joy and happiness we got out of her experience."
Wish Alum Pyper was granted her wish to go to Walt Disney World® resorts in 2019. Her family started donating to Make-A-Wish Arizona almost as soon as they returned.
"To know our donation will help another sick kid feel the same joy Pyper had during her wish makes our hearts full," said Scott, Pyper’s dad.
“Giving to Make-A-Wish Arizona is very personal,” said Katie, Pyper’s mother. “We know from our experience and being in hospitals there are so many sick kids and the need is so big.
"Pyper relapsed from her tumor last year. We caught it very early and she’s on a low-maintenance dose. She’s doing much better now, and we use memories of her wish to get through the hard days.”
Currently, there are more than 500 children in Arizona waiting for their wish.
“We are those families in clinics and hospital rooms looking for some hope, we understand them. Wishes are more than a wish; they are a chance at joy, a chance at something positive within all the fear and trauma,” said Scott.
If everybody would just give a little each month, more wishes could be granted for kids like Pyper.

In addition to their monthly donation, Pyper and her family also support Make-A-Wish Arizona by making purchases through AmazonSmile and donating their Fry’s Community Rewards.
“It’s so easy to do and doesn’t cost you anything extra. If everybody would just give a little each month, more wishes could be granted for kids like Pyper,” said Katie.
Knowing what a wish can give to a family and knowing we are helping another family have the joy and happiness a wish brings gives us even more joy!
