SCOTTSDALE, AZ (March 18, 2024) - Make-A-Wish® Arizona is thrilled to announce that the 2024 Make-A-Wish Arizona Wish Ball, presented by Phusion Projects, raised an astounding $2.7 million in a single night. These funds help fulfill the pipeline of 645 future wishes of Arizona children facing critical illnesses.

Dena Zell and Kristine Hedlund co-chaired the sold-out event, which was themed "Field of Wishes, An Evening of Black, White and Sparkle." Their vision brought to life a spectacular opportunity to highlight the wishes that have made a profound impact on Wish Kids, their families, and the communities that support them.

“As longtime supporters of Make-A-Wish, Kristine and I were deeply honored to be part of the continued legacy of Wish Ball,” said Wish Ball co-chair, Dena Zell. “Having achieved a recordbreaking milestone last year by granting the most wishes in Arizona's history, Make-A-Wish Arizona has set a higher goal of granting 450 wishes this year. The funds raised at this year's Wish Ball are more critical than ever.”

The 2024 Wish Ball marked a historic evening for Make-A-Wish Arizona, as it served as the inaugural event held at Chase Field. With an impressive attendance of over 1,100 guests, including nearly 20 Wish Kids, it set a record for the largest turnout ever seen at this prestigious gala. The overwhelming support demonstrated the unwavering commitment of the community to the mission of granting life-changing wishes.

In recognition of their exceptional dedication to Make-A-Wish Arizona’s mission, Derrick Hall and the Arizona Diamondbacks were honored with the first-ever Community Partner Award. This accolade celebrates their continuous support and tireless efforts in making wishes come true for Arizona children battling critical illnesses.

"The success of the 2024 Wish Ball is a testament to the incredible compassion of our community," said Fran Mallace, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona. "The generosity of our donors, sponsors, medical professionals, volunteers and the Make-A-Wish team are essential for granting wishes. The funds raised will enable us to bring hope, strength, and joy to even more wish kids in the coming year."
