Caden's Wish

Caden's Chicago Bears Wish

Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia teamed up with Make-A-Wish Illinois to grant 14-year-old Caden’s wish to meet his favorite NFL team, the Chicago Bears, in an unforgettable experience!

Caden, who has been battling cancer, wished to meet Bears players and attend a game at iconic Soldier Field. The Bears organization embraced him with open arms, making sure his visit was nothing short of extraordinary.

Caden’s experience was remarkable from the moment he arrived at Friday practice. He was treated like a VIP, getting an exclusive tour of Halas Hall where he could see firsthand where the Bears prepare for their games. As he watched the team practice, Caden got to be up close to his football heroes, witnessing the intensity and precision of their drills. For a young football fan, being on the sidelines during practice was a wish come true, made even better by the personal interactions he had with players like Caleb Williams and DJ Moore.

Not only did they take the time to talk with him, but they also signed autographs and posed for pictures with Caden and his family. The players showed genuine interest in his story, offering words of encouragement and praise for his bravery. Caden was thrilled to be in the presence of the team he had admired from afar, and the time spent with the players added an unforgettable personal touch to his visit.

On Sunday, at the Chicago Bears game against the Carolina Panthers, Caden was honored as the Champion of the Game. As the crowd roared in Soldier Field, Caden stood proudly, representing the spirit and determination that the title embodies. The Bears' victory was made even more special with Caden's recognition, solidifying the day as a memorable one for everyone involved.

For Caden, this weekend was more than just meeting his favorite football team—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that lifted his spirits and gave him a sense of hope. Thanks to the efforts of Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia and Illinois and the generosity of the Chicago Bears, Caden and his family left with memories that will last a lifetime, along with the inspiration and strength to keep fighting his battle with cancer. This special day will be one he’ll never forget, filled with joy, excitement, and encouragement from the team he loves.
