Mira was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect as a baby. Shortly before turning one, Mira underwent open heart surgery. When Mira found out she received a wish she knew exactly what to wish for. 

She loves fashion and design and was excited to experience a runway firsthand. Make-A-Wish^® Suffolk County along with Art Hearts Fashion helped make Mira’s wish come true. Mira was “blown away” by her transformation before she hit the runway. She had her hair and makeup professionally done and modeled a new dress. Mira didn’t let her nerves get the best of her when she made her runway debut. 

Mira said she wishes her younger brother, Patrick, was there to watch. She was only three when Patrick was also born with a congenital heart defect. He passed away two days before he would have been 11 months old. 

Mira was interviewed by the Today Show where she told reporters about her once in a lifetime experience.
