Her most heartfelt wish was to meet the cast of Grey’s Anatomy. Not only did Madison hope to meet the cast but she was fascinated with the “backstage” experience of television. She was very interested in the stage sets and mechanics of filming. Madison also hoped she might raise awareness for her illness and inspire an episode about her autoimmune disorder. She has thoughts of becoming a doctor one day, so this was the perfect wish to combine all her interests!  

From the very start Madison was treated like Hollywood royalty. Her limo escort was a complete surprise to her, and she was beyond thrilled as she climbed in and headed toward her wish come true. Madison began her day in the production office where she met with a Producer for some photos. Fulfilling her hope of really delving into what makes a television show happen, she toured the writer’s bungalow, the art department and toured some sets. She had her first star sighting as she toured the sets when she suddenly spotted Debbie Allen. Nervous but excited Madison spoke with Debbie as she took pictures, signed autographs and shared some behind the scenes stories.

It was on to the prop department where she met cast member Payton Silver. Madison impressed everyone with her knowledge of the names of many of the prop body parts. A true fan! She then made her way to postproduction editing where she met with a writer who explained the entire process of creating a storyline from the initial idea to completion of a script. More pictures and stories with cast member Kevin McKidd and then Madison visited costumes where she was presented with her very own personalized scrubs and lab coat! 

Lights, camera, action! Just when Madison thought it couldn’t get any better, she met with a director who explained the entire taping process and sat in the Director’s chair to view the taping! At this first taping cast members Greg Germann and Kim Raver who spent some time joking with Madison. They signed autographs and took pictures and delighted her with their stories and banter. She got to sit on the camera cart and the entire cast and crew cheered for her. The second taping Madison went to was just as exciting. Meeting with the director as well as 3 more cast members, James Pickens Jr., Kelly McCreary and Caterina Scorsone, who all kept her entertained with stories of filming with each other. 

The icing on the cake for Madison was the personal time she spent with her favorite actress, Ellen Pompeo, talking about the show and their lives. Maddy’s mother tells us she cried tears of joy after - and hasn’t stopped smiling since.
