Wish Kid Destiny On Stage

Wish Kid Destiny Lights Up the Stage at The Pearl!

Diagnosed with cancer in 2019, 17-year-old Destiny, a vibrant teen with a zest for life, underwent surgery to remove a malignant mass and subsequently began a series of chemotherapy and surgical treatments. During her arduous days of medical procedures and illness, Destiny’s love of music kept her spirits up and her soul ignited. When she was 15, Destiny attended a Lady Gaga concert, and her passion for music was solidified. This is why Destiny’s wish was to be a recording artist.

After arranging for Destiny to work with notable music producers to record her original songs, it was time to celebrate her accomplishment and share her music, marking an important milestone in her journey.  In May of 2023, Destiny along with her friends and family arrived at The Palms Casino Resort, where a special listening party was planned for her to sing two original songs on stage in the iconic Pearl Theater.

Destiny On Stage at The Pearl

In the fashion befitting a celebrity, the team at The Palms welcomed Destiny and family in style via a Make-A-Wish blue carpet and VIP arrival with private transportation and fanfare including posters and cheers from the awaiting crowd as she arrived at the hotel.  Destiny’s image beamed from the hotel’s marquis and digital screens throughout the day in anticipation. Surrounded by cheering supporters from Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada and The Palms, along with her friends and family, the teenager was living her dream.

Destiny shared, "No matter what chronic disability you have or what invisible disability you have, the world is yours. You make what you want of your life. No one else can tell you how to do that."

“Wishes aren’t possible without the efforts and generosity of our partners. Destiny’s wish demonstrates the power of a community’s ability to make life-changing wishes happen for children with critical illnesses,” said Scott Rosenzweig, President and CEO, Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada. “The Palms team went above and beyond for Destiny, and we are so thankful to them for making the day extraordinary.”
