In December 2022, Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada granted the chapter's 2,500th wish alongside community partner, Resorts World Las Vegas.

As a fleet of Rolls-Royces pulled up to the porte-cochere at Resorts World Las Vegas, a cheering crowd stood waiting on a very special little girl.

Ten-year-old Harli has faced her share of battles in her young life. From being diagnosed at age four with several rare respiratory and rheumatology disorders that affected her breathing, mobility and organs, to undergoing brain surgery in 2021, most of Harli’s life has been spent at home. Her wish to have the time of her life stemmed from her original modest wish to dress up and go to the movies, something that she hadn’t been able to do on account of the complexities of her condition.

As Harli shyly stepped out of the bright orange Rolls-Royce, the crowd’s cheers swelled, crescendoing into a chant of “Harli, Harli, Harli!” It was a lot to take in for a little girl who had never even stepped foot inside of a hotel. Through her mask, her eyes squinted hinting at an appreciative smile. She had been up since 3 a.m. waiting in anticipation for this moment.

“I am very excited!” Harli said, as she and her mom got settled in the resort’s penthouse suite for their five-day staycation.

The tears started flowing for Brandi, Harli’s mom, as soon as she saw her daughter’s name displayed on the façade of the Resorts World Las Vegas building.

“I am so grateful and so happy that Harli gets to have this experience because to me, nobody else in the world deserves it more than her,” Brandi said.

The resort pulled out all the stops to ensure that Harli truly did have the time of her life. Her experience included a visit to Enchant, pizza-making at Mulberry Street, a makeover at Miss Behave, a family dinner at Kusa Nori, an evening at the David Blaine Show, a rooftop experience, and of course a movie night. They even opened the pool just for Harli and her family and friends so they could enjoy a carefree day in the water away from the crowds.

“We are so excited to host Harli and her family for this week,” said Lori Calderon, Executive Director of Community Engagement Resorts World Las Vegas. “We wanted to make sure we had many events that were full of surprise and delight. We really welcome Harli, and we want her to leave with memories that will last a lifetime.”

Harli’s wish marks the 2,500th for Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada since its founding in 1996. Wishes have ranged from Walt Disney World vacations to becoming published authors.
