Marilyn Camps in Comfort

Ever since she first stepped foot on a campground, Marilyn has loved camping.

Unfortunately, her medical battle with leukemia means that her immune system is compromised and that she has to extra careful to stay away from germs. She cannot travel because she must avoid crowds. So camping is an adventure that she can enjoy.

Her ultimate wish was to have her own camper so that she and her family can enjoy the great outdoors and travel wherever they want. After hearing of her love of Harry Potter, Camping World Fort Pierce partnered with Make-A-Wish to make the big wish reveal a little more magical with special Harry Potter touches like a robe and wand.

“Camping brings out a whole different side of her that I never thought I’d see. She only gets one wish so she wished to have something that she can have fun with and create memories for

Her new camper makes enjoying her favorite hobby easier and cleaner. Now she can go on camping trips with her scout troop. Instead of sleeping in a tent, she can explore the campground and retreat back to the camper with the comforts of home.

Marilyn’s mother said, “We never thought this could be possible. Her wish journey really helped with the recovery process. And after everything that she has gone through, it’s amazing to have a foundation like Make-A-Wish that can provide such joy.”
