Ever's Hawaiian Adventure

Ever's Hawaiian Adventure

When Ever was diagnosed with leukemia at 4 years old, she declared that, “Cancer will not win – I am going to win.”

For two and a half years straight, she battled the disease with chemo pills at home and treatments in the hospital. According to her mother, she remained positive, never complained and always smiled.

Her heartfelt wish was to go to Hawaii to see where Moana lives. The experience exceeded her greatest expectations. Her dream vacation started off with a special moment when the pilot invited her to make the pre-flight announcements to the passengers. When they got off the plane, they were greeted with leis and immediately knew this vacation would be special.

She missed out on so much. This trip was a breath of fresh air. There was no medicine. There were no hospital visits. She could be silly, laugh and just enjoy every moment.

Ever's mother

Her mother continued, "Ever's smile just melts my heart. She could just be a kid - she didn’t have that during her treatment at all."

From morning until night, Ever and her family immersed themselves in the Hawaiian oasis. They enjoyed every inch of the gorgeous resort and its amenities. They went snorkeling and watched a fire show. Ever was excited to attend an authentic luau, where she learned to hula and tasted her new obsession – garlic shrimp. She made Mickey ears, got her hair and makeup professionally done, AND met Moana!

Her mother said, “She constantly asks when we can go back. She really truly loved it there. and called it paradise. We were truly on her time and allowed her to dictate what we did each day. It was all based on Ever’s wants. She was in charge; we just followed her lead. Make-A-Wish did an incredible job of getting her everything she could imagine.”
