1000^th Wish - Michael's Tree House

Oh, but not just any tree house would do! His arboreal sanctuary had to be “Barney Purple” like the famous children’s television dinosaur. And he was particular about other things too. Michael’s parents remember, “He would sit at the window and watch the construction. If something wasn’t to his liking, he would bolt out the door to tell the foreman.” The house would have a sand box and some stairs leading up to a bright yellow door with a sign that read “Michael’s Wish.” 

Today, 25-year-old Michael still holds the keys to that door on the original silver Mickey Mouse key chain. He said, “Medicine is a great help, but there’s a lot to be said about people who feel healthier because they have hope and happiness in their lives. The tree house was a great example of that for me.” 

During his childhood, that tree house brought positive energy, thoughts, and experiences to Michael’s life. Even though medicines and doctors were still a part of his reality, he was given a renewed sense of hope and happiness whenever he spent time in the tree house. He shared his joy by hosting sleepovers and roasting s’mores over a campfire. “Memories like those are irreplaceable, for the wish child, their families, and friends. Thanks to Make-A-Wish, I’m always going to have those recollections.”
