Make-A-Wish® South Carolina has announced that Steve Carr, general manager of Dave & Buster’s Myrtle Beach has been elected to the chapter's board of directors.

“We are thrilled to have Steve join our board of directors representing the Myrtle Beach area and look forward to increasing mission awareness and impact in the area.” stated Amanda Osborne, Vice President of Mission Advancement for Make-A-Wish South Carolina. 

Under Steve Carr's leadership since its opening in 2017, the Dave & Buster’s Myrtle Beach location has performed in the top 10% of all Dave & Buster’s locations across the country in revenue raised for Make-A-Wish. The team’s support and enthusiasm for Make-A-Wish South Carolina starts at the top as Steve sets the expectation for all team members to actively promote and support the mission throughout the year.

Osborne remarked, “Board members are guardians of the mission and have many responsibilities: they are policy-makers, fundraisers, strategic thinkers and ambassadors. Steve brings leadership in key areas, such as mentorship and campaign strategy implementation, as well as his passion for helping local families with children facing a critical illness. We are very fortunate to have him by our side as we continue to strengthen community in South Carolina.”

In addition to revenue generated for Make-A-Wish through local campaigns, Dave & Buster’s Myrtle Beach has hosted more than 20 wish kid celebrations and a Myrtle Beach Wish Kid Reunion Party with over 80 guests in attendance.

Steve is actively involved in the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and Broadway at the Beach entertainment complex.
