Austin Goes to Disney World
5-year-old Austin is the light of his family's life and is always so happy and outgoing. He is a busy and active little boy who loves sports. In the spring of 2020, Austin began having severe back pain which was unusual and alarming. After a routine checkup with his pediatrician, he was referred to the Children's Hospital for further testing. This testing revealed every parent's worst nightmare, little Austin was diagnosed with High-Risk Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He immediately began an 18-month intense and invasive chemo, radiation, surgery, and therapy regime. Shortly after his diagnosis, his family was referred to Make-A-Wish Oklahoma. Austin's volunteers met with him during his treatment and explained that he would be receiving a wish. This light at the end of the tunnel was something that Austin and his family focused on during the difficult days when hope seemed out of reach.
