Estrella Meets Her Match

Estrella is just 2 years old and was born with a heart condition that has already required two open heart surgeries and other medical procedures.

She is a dog lover who snuggles with her many stuffed animal puppies, and she decided her wish was the perfect time to ask for a puppy of her own. Estrella has a strong bond with all the neighborhood dogs, and she loves to visit the dog park to watch other people’s dogs play. Because of her wish, she can bring her own dog to play!

When Estrella met her beautiful Goldendoodle puppy, there was an instant connection. The family chose to name the pup Luna which means moon in Spanish because Estrella means star in Spanish. Now they have “a star and the moon in their home.”

“My feelings are all over the place. I am overwhelmed with joy, happiness, and excitement. It doesn’t feel real. I am just very happy and blessed.”

Luna’s love will help lift Estrella’s spirits, especially with a procedure taking place right after her wish coming true. Her mother looks forward to watching the new friends play ball, chase each other, and interact with all the canine friends at the dog park.

Estrella’s father said, “With everything that is going on, I just wanted to see joy on her face. It was a heartwarming experience to see her so excited especially when the puppy came in and gave her a kiss. That to me was just everything.”
