Volunteer Spotlight: Saajan Bhakta
In 2014, Saajan became involved with Make-A-Wish as a volunteer and public speaker. Since then, Saajan has spoken on behalf of Make-A-Wish at countless events and has granted just under 5 wishes. To Saajan, the best part about being a wish granter is, “being able to see the positive impact that a wish can have on a child’s life. The wish is so much more than a one-time experience. It is something that they remember for the rest of their life. It reminds them of the beauty, good, strength, and positivity in the world.”
The power of a wish is something that Saajan is no stranger to! “I believe in the power of a wish because I have personally seen (multiple times) just how powerful a wish experience is for the child. From the very first meeting with a wish child to the follow-up after the wish has been granted, it’s clear that the power of a wish brings them hope, courage, and inspiration. The power of a wish has the ability to change a child’s entire outlook on life. It brings joy, smiles, and memories that they cherish forever. It’s not just a wish, it’s a life changing experience.”
In true volunteer spirit, if Saajan could have a wish granted he said, “My wish would fall into the category of “I wish to give…” I am passionate about giving back to the community, and I would want to partner with the Make-A-Wish organization to give more wish experiences to children in the Kansas and Missouri community!”
Thank you Saajan for your unwavering commitment to our wish kids and families. Because of volunteers like you we are able to grant more life-changing wishes across Missouri & Kansas.
