Maddie's Wish for a Dance Studio with a Stage
Five-year-old Maddie found out that her wish for a dance studio with a stage would be coming true just a week before her wish day. Maddie and her sisters attend the Maine Academy of Dance in Caribou and this community is an important part of their lives.
After dance class, Maddie was called into the retail shop to pick out a new dress and tiara. She walked her very own red carpet and was greeted by her dance classmates. They even choreographed a routine to the song “We’re All in This Together” as they shared the wonderful news that her wish would be granted.
Maddie was in a lot of shock while this was all happening and told her mom she cried happy tears for the first time!
While planning the dance studio, items on Maddie’s Wish List included: a big stage, a mirror, ballet barre, and a special place for Dolly to sit. Dolly is a stuffed animal gifted to her by her preschool when she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Maddie celebrated her wish with those closest to her and we expect this special space to create joy for years to come for Maddie and her sisters. Learn more about Maddie's wish here!
“Just the ability to talk about [the wish] took us outside of that hospital room and gave us hope and reminded us that we were in a storm right now, but a rainbow was coming,” explains wish mom Melissa about the power of a wish.
