REPORTS TO:             VP of Development

JOB/POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Coordinator plays an essential fundraising role and is based in Knoxville. The coordinator must be adept at managing donor relationships, planning high impact internal and external events, and working with volunteers. S/he must be sincere, informative, and creative in communications, as well as well-versed in fundraising best practices and will be expected to track progress and be responsible for meeting specific revenue goals and other relevant metrics.

 

JOB/POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Donor Engagement

  • Build and manage a portfolio of individual and organizational prospects and supporters by developing and executing effective and meaningful cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies. This may include in-person visits, emails, phone calls, stewardship events, written correspondence, and video messaging. Will work with other staff to manage social media channels and use storytelling to share the impact of wishes with donors and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with VP on identification and solicitation of event sponsors.
  • Manage and leverage national corporate partnerships to maximize local activation.
  • Contribute to the chapter’s efforts to obtain and grow in-kind support.

Events

  • Oversee external fundraising events, licensing forms, correspondence, and stewardship. Identify and develop new external event partners.
  • Manage relationships with Chi-Omega sororities and develop new Wishmakers on Campus (college) and Kids For Wish Kids (middle/high school) partners.
  • Play a lead role in the execution of internal events including the Grandstand Classic and the Run For Wishes series. Responsible for all event logistics, working with committees, and enlisting other colleagues and volunteers as necessary. Assist with identifying event chairs/honorees, speakers/wish families, and mission engagement moments.

Mid-Level and Major Donor Programs

  • Assist VP with mid-level and major donor qualification and stewardship phone calls, emails, visits, and thank you letters/notes.
  • Assist VP with private foundation grant requests and reports.
  • Manage a donor portfolio of 75+ individuals and businesses.
  • Assist with donor stewardship programs and events as needed.

General Operations and Administration

  • Aid in managing donor reports for the development staff. Serve as the point person on donor database management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS
  • 3+ years of experience in revenue-generation activities (sales and/or fundraising)
  • Excellent writing, administrative, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Pristine ethical orientation
  • Commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation
  • Decisive and capable of timely and effective decision making
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Demonstrated excellence at project management
  • Knowledge of Raisers Edge preferred
  • Nonprofit fundraising experience with public relations and event management experience preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment
  • Displays professionalism and quality customer service and delivery skills
  • Participation in some evening and weekend events required

Pay: $36,000.00 - $41,000.00 per year
