Summary

Responsible for implementing the day-to-day content strategy for Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy Development & Management

  • In partnership with the Director of Marketing & Communications, develops a comprehensive content strategy for MAWSNV to include social media, web, donor, CEO blogs, newsletters, wish stories, direct and digital marketing communications, and outreach materials
  • Provides daily management and updates of the content calendar for all marketing communications including digital communications, website, donor stewardship, and additional storytelling assets
  • Assists in the production of cyclical marketing projects including the annual report, stewardship books, event materials, etc.
  • Stays updated on trends, industry best practices and emerging technologies to keep content strategy innovative and effective.

Marketing Liaison for Outsourced Vendors

  • Using independent judgment, oversees the execution and reconciliation of the marketing department budgeted expenses
  • Work with graphic designers, videographers, and other outsourced vendors to meet or exceed assigned project deadlines and ensure brand standard compliance, content accuracy and efficacy, as well as budgetary guidelines
  • Coordinates design, printing, and delivery of collateral pieces with third-party vendors 

Internal Lead for Creative Requests

  • Reviews and edits internal communications to ensure consistency of messaging and MAW brand standards
  • Maintain asset library and rebrand collateral items as needed
  • Light graphic design work: adding text to pictures, editing templates, resizing images for social media, etc. 

Social Media Management

  • Manages calendar, writes copy, and schedules posts across platforms, making sure to fulfill National campaigns, and local sponsorships, and share engaging wish stories with MAWSNV
  • Monitors social media channels and engages with followers accordingly
  • Performance measurement; Monitors and analyzes the performance of content using relevant metrics (engagement, click through rates, conversation) and adjusts content strategies accordingly for continuous improvement.

Departmental Administration & Support

  • Research, data-entry, and other administrative tasks as assigned
  • Assists in the day-to-day operations of the marketing department
  • Process weekly departmental invoices for payment in bill-pay system and create credit card expense reports for charges incurred bi-monthly
  • Record any donated goods or services from third-party vendors upon occurrence/receipt
  • Assist in capturing video and photo content when needed 

Editing & Proofreading

  • Reviews and edits content for grammar, clarity, accuracy, and consistency
  • Ensures that the content created adheres to MAW brand voice and style guidelines
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum two-years writing/content creation experience
  •  Must possess EXCEPTIONAL writing skills (both spelling and grammar), to write and edit clear, persuasive, and original copy
  •  Strong social media knowledge in our primary channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn); knowledge of social media advertising, Hootsuite, and SEO a plus
  •  Excellent computer skills required (Office Suite, Basecamp, Smartsheet)
  •  Knowledge of design programs preferred (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Canva)
  •  Data-entry/customer relationship database experience required
  •  Creative mindset to develop fresh and engaging ideas for various content formats such as social media posts, infographics, videos, etc.
  •  Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and excel in problem-solving
  •  Has the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision, often under pressure with tight deadlines
  •  Ability to think creatively and identify shareable marketing moments/opportunities as they arise
  •  Ability to deal with sensitive information with high confidentiality
  •  Strong communication skills to connect & collaborate with people and engage others in the mission of the organization
