Cash Wish Granted 2017
brain tumor
Cash and his family received renewed hope in 2017 when his wish was granted as he bravely batted a brain tumor. His family was able to escape thoughts of treatments, appointments and hospital visits during their week-long stay in Florida. There they spent time as a family creating lifelong memories at theme parks, Give Kids the World and most importantly being together. When children are battling a critical illness, so much of normal childhood is taken away from them — it is exhausting, both emotionally and physically. A wish is something that gives kids the opportunity to look outside their illness — it restores a sense of childhood back to the child and normalcy back to the family.
Due to Covid-19, wishes like Cash's have been paused for the safety of several kids. Right now there are over 300 children approved for a wish in Iowa. Although these children are experiencing the hope of something to look forward to during the hardest struggles, many of their wishes have been delayed. During these uncertain times, many children have started to re-imagine what their wish could be.
Right now especially, each wish requires an incredible amount of brainpower, creativity, time and generosity, to create a magical experience for kids who need it most. But we need your help to close the gap between each child that receives a wish and those waiting.
