Ellison is one of the best gamers you will ever meet. He spends most of his free time playing Xbox video games and PC video games. When he’s not playing video games, Ellison loves watching sports, especially soccer and boxing. As an avid boxing fan, Ellison also enjoys watching UFC fights with his dad. However, Ellison’s life hasn’t always been as positive and active as it sounds.

Ellison has spent more time in a hospital than most people will spend in a lifetime at just eight years old. When his mom, Eva, was six months pregnant, doctors diagnosed Ellison with a rare congenital heart disease that prevented blood from flowing normally through his heart. A week after being born, he underwent a shunt surgery to ensure he had adequate blood flow to his lungs. When he was big enough, seven months later, Ellison endured open-heart surgery to complete the repair and install a pacemaker. These surgeries have left him with a scar that he is self-conscious about, rarely taking his shirt off because he doesn’t understand why other family members don’t have a scar. 

When Ellison first met with Make-A-Wish discovery volunteers, he decided his wish was to meet his favorite soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo. But after thinking some more about what would have the most impact on his young life, Ellison decided that a portable game room would bring him the most joy. 

Thanks to the incredible generosity of community partners like Judy Stone, Gensler Las Vegas, Nevada State Bank, and our monthly donors, Ellison’s wish came true! Not only does Ellison now have a new gaming chair, desk, and PC, but he also has new games and an awesome headset to talk to other gamers. His new room is also decked out with cool posters of all his favorite things like Star Wars, Marvel superheroes, and more. Ellison now has the perfect space to relax, have fun, and play video games!
