Wish Ball Invites Community to Join Together to Ignite Hope in Virtual

The gala, presented by TrueScripts®, will air on Facebook to raise funds for critically ill children in South Carolina

Statewide, South Carolina (February 16, 2021) – For more than 35 years, the South Carolina community has partnered with Make-A-Wish® South Carolina to deliver hope to kids facing critical illnesses and their families. After an unprecedented and challenging year, hope is more essential than ever for the more than 400 children waiting for a wish in the state. Make-A-Wish® South Carolina is proud to partner with presenting sponsor, TrueScripts, to present the eighth annual Wish Ball. The virtual gala invites the community to come together to ignite hope for wish kids. The virtual event will air Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 6pm on Facebook.

Wishes are more than a nice thing. For kids battling critical illnesses they transform anxiety into hope and fear into strength. Anticipation of a wish-come-true can be a powerful motivator for wish kids to face and overcome the challenges in their way. During 2020 and the pandemic, kids have been more isolated and vulnerable than ever before. They need the stars in our community to ignite hope through life-changing wish experiences.

With a dynamic virtual show full of fun, inspiration and heartwarming surprises, Make-A-Wish delivers a powerful front-row seat to the life-changing effects of wishes. For guests, the charitable evening offers the unique chance to behold the incredible outcomes of wishes and the opportunity to create transformational moments for future S.C. wish families right from the comfort of their home.

We are excited to celebrate with our supporters and wish families at Wish Ball. The tremendous joy they have created, particularly over the last year, has been heartwarming to witness, said Misty Farmer, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. Our donors, volunteers and supporters are at the very forefront of our mission and we feel this event is theirs as much as it is ours. Together, well celebrate and together, well create more hope and joy for the precious children in our state who need it most.

Dean Merder, president of TrueScripts, stated, “We have witnessed firsthand the transformational power a wish has for a wish family. Not just the child but the entire family benefits from the strength a wish creates. At TrueScripts, we value making a difference in our community, and by partnering with Make-A-Wish South Carolina, we know we are leaving an indelible mark on the lives of local families.”

As part of the exciting program, there is an online auction to support the event. To view items and begin bidding, supporters can visit scwishball.org. They may also text SCWishBall to 243725 on their mobile device to register and bid.  Participants can win fantastic items from staycation packages to beauty items and more.
