Stevie was just about to turn three when her wish was granted. It was such a beautiful day filled with joy and love for a special family in an intimate setting. We saw the power of a wish in many ways that day. Stevie, who was battling a brain tumor, was able to go outside and play on a sunny spring day. She played for over an hour in her ball pit, petted the baby animals in the petting zoo, ate a birthday donut and pizza, engaged with out of town family via Zoom, and crawled into her cozy play tent to rest - things her family hadn't seen her do in weeks.
You could clearly see the positive impact on the emotional well-being of the entire family. For a few hours they were simply happy celebrating and playing as a family, and without worry.
That is the true magic and power of a wish.
Sadly, Stevie passed away a few weeks after the party, but her family will have these special memories of a beautiful day forever. A close family friend referred her because she knew the power of a wish and that the family needed this gift. The community and supporters like you make wishes for all children in need, our neighbors, family and friends, and little ones you may never know, come true.
