Proceeds from Subaru Vehicles can Benefit Make-A-Wish® South Carolina this
Statewide, South Carolina (November 19, 2020) – Beginning today through Jan. 4, 2021, Subaru of America, Inc. will give consumers the opportunity to bring joy to children when they need it most by electing to donate to Make-A-Wish® after purchasing or leasing a new Subaru vehicle.
As part of the thirteenth Subaru Share the Love® Event, between Nov. 19, 2020 and Jan. 4, 2021, Subaru will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer's choice of participating national charities, including Make-A-Wish.
Make-A-Wish South Carolina has also been selected as a hometown charity by Hadwin-White Subaru, a local Subaru retailer. As a hometown charity, customers purchasing or leasing a new Subaru vehicle at Hadwin-White Subaru will have the option to donate directly to fulfilling wishes for children fighting critical illnesses in South Carolina.
To celebrate the kickoff of Hadwin-White’s campaign, they joined Make-A-Wish in granting Colton’s wish to be a photographer. The Murrell’s Inlet wish kid, who has battled a brain tumor, conducted his first professional photoshoot of a 2021 Forester Touring courtesy of Hadwin-White Subaru.
“Every day of waiting for a wish is one too many for a child fighting a critical illness,” said Misty Farmer, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. “We are grateful for the opportunity to invite Subaru customers to join us this holiday season in making wishes come true.”
Since becoming a national charity partner beneficiary in 2011, Make-A-Wish has received a total of more than $23 million in donations through the Subaru Share the Love Event. These funds have allowed more than 2,500 children nationwide to replace fear with confidence, anxiety with hope and sadness with joy due to the powerful impact of a wish come true.
“Make-A-Wish has always been special to my family. Not only is the mission of Make-A-Wish so important in the life of a child, but it is equally important to the family who makes invaluable memories with their loved one,” said Jordan Hadwin, General Manager of Hadwin-White Subaru. “The innocence of the children is met with such compassion, love and the ultimate goal of making dreams come true- this charity is nothing short of magical and we could not be more excited to work with Make-A-Wish South Carolina as our Hadwin-White Subaru Share The Love Event partner and recipient!"

About Make-A-Wish South Carolina
Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. The chapter receives funding through private donations, individuals, companies and special events.
