The Walt Disney World specialty license plate just hit a major milestone in raising $5 million for Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida. The pixie dusted state plate has helped grant wishes for more than 600 kids with critical illnesses — including Maddie’s, a wish kid from Melbourne who is battling leukemia and wished to spend a day with Disney royalty.

Talk about a need for speed! Florida teen, Andy, was granted a very special wish to ride in a McLaren, and to attend a Formula 1 race in Texas. He was also the 8,000th wish granted by Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida.

The FOX 35 Care Force heads out to a local Make-A-Wish reveal party on Wednesday. Jeremy, known fondly as “Tripp," is a brave young man who has been fighting a respiratory disease. As part of his wish, Tripp will embark on a thrilling adventure to Cabo, Mexico, for a sport fishing experience of a lifetime.

Members of Watersound Fountains, an independent living community in Inlet Beach, harnessed their zest for life and passion for helping others to good use this month. The community hosted a “Fashion Show for a Cause,” a fundraising event to support Make-A-Wish® Central and Northern Florida, that featured members of the community as the models.
