World Wish Month

World Wish Month

It all began with a single wish on April 29, 1980. Seven-year-old Chris, battling leukemia, wished to be a police officer for a day. Six people answered the call, rallied the community, and lifted Chris up during his darkest days. Inspired by the impact of that first wish, they vowed to do more—and a global movement was born.

Every year on April 29, we celebrate World Wish Day, but our mission deserves more than just one day. World Wish Month is a celebration of the hope, strength, and joy that wishes bring to children facing critical illnesses.

This year, our campaign is “WishMakers Wanted”—a nod to our founders and a call to action for everyone to join the mission. Because of WishMakers like you, we’ve granted over 10,750 wishes locally, and we need your support to ensure every eligible child receives their wish.

Below are the ways you can join us this April, stay tuned as we add even more events to the calendar!
