Summary

To create and execute comprehensive donor-focused fundraising plans and growth strategies for various revenue-generating avenues for the chapter, including but not limited to: individual donors, corporate donors, lapsed donors, Kids for Wish Kids, National Partnerships, external events and local Chi Omega relationships. Cultivate, solicit, steward, and retain assigned donor portfolios while identifying new relationships and opportunities for the chapter. Serve as a primary liaison and representative for donors, ensuring data integrity and necessary compliance documentation are recorded in a timely manner. Ensure excellent customer service to our community supporters while providing opportunities for participants to learn more about the mission and impact of wishes. This position is responsible for representing Make-A-Wish Oklahoma in the public domain as assigned or applicable while seeking new avenues and sources of funding.

Responsibilities
  • Create, develop, and execute an annual giving program to develop and retain a base of donors, establish regular solicitation appeals, expand the donor base by soliciting gifts from new prospects, bond the constituent to the organization through stewardship, use the donor base to identify potential major donors and promote giving vehicles to encourage planned gifts
  • Build annual plans and actionable tactics to elevate giving in respective areas, and provide active stewardship and inspiring communication to these supporters
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward a portfolio of donors
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to reengage lapsed donors through personalized communication, invitations to events, and targeted campaigns. Identify opportunities for lapsed donors to reengage with the organization with tailored and compelling messaging and materials
  • Report and track gifts and actions in SalesForce (donor management software) and provide bi-weekly updates to supervisors on progress, challenges, and suggestions for elevating performance in areas of responsibility
  • Manage and grow Make-A-Wish Oklahoma’s Kids for Wish Kids (KFWK) Program on the west side of the state. Build and retain relationships with current partner schools. Represent Make-A-Wish Oklahoma at KFWK events, kick-offs and check presentations when requested by school partners. Responsible for presenting the KFWK program to new school groups and soliciting support for future KFWK campaigns
  • Oversee Wish Makers on Campus (WMOC) program, including Chi Omega relationships. Provide stewardship and guidance to Chi Omega chapters to help the members create fundraising plans for Wish Week and other fundraising activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Senior Director of Development
Requirements
  • To be successful, an individual must be able to perform each job duty satisfactorily. The candidate will have some experience with donor cultivation and stewardship, communication strategies, storytelling, public speaking, and a collaborative, positive work style.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting corporate donors to support fundraising goals.
Education & Experience
  • A Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree required in Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.  CFRE or CFRM certification is a plus. 
  • Public speaking, written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of donors, volunteers, and staff
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook.  Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
  • Possess strong organization, planning, budget managing and data tracking skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple priorities, responsibilities, and tasks effectively
  • Must be a positive role model and collaborative team player with high integrity
  • Excellent customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally
  • Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and demonstrate creativity and agility in daily work
