Meet Naomi Hansen
Wish Granter, Special Events Volunteer, and Fundraising Volunteer
Volunteering since February 2018, Naomi has served more than 50 wish kids!
Why do you love volunteering with Make-A-Wish Georgia?
“What I love most about volunteering with MAW is seeing the joy in the parents faces while they are watching their child receive a wish. As a parent there isn’t anything better than watching your child experience something new. Especially these kids who have been through so much.”
What’s a memorable wish you’ve worked on?
“My favorite wish is Bemnet’s she wished to go where the princesses live! This wish is so special to me as I got to watch a whole community of strangers come together for one little girl. My dear friend helped translate as the family was from Ethiopia and needed an Amharic speaker. I was welcomed into a new culture, and my eyes were opened to a new level gratitude I hadn’t experienced before. Bemnet’s father told us “Our wish has already come true, our daughter is alive. If we were in Ethiopia she would not be here”.”
If you were getting a wish, what would your wish be?
“If I had a wish, it would be to go to the summer Olympics.”
